NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The arraignment for a man accused of stabbing his coworker has been delayed pending the conclusion of mental tests that will determine if he’s fit to plead.

Twenty-seven-year-old David Poitier was arrested on October 24 after he allegedly stabbed 28-year-old Kandace Clarke in the back while at Poseidon’s Table in the Atlantis resort.

Poitier appeared before Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr to be formally charged with causing grievous harm and assault with a deadly weapon in relation to the incident.

However, the magistrate didn’t arraign Poitier after his lawyer raised concerns about his mental state.

Poitier allegedly has a card from the Sandilands Rehabilitation Center. Poitier returns to court on November 17.
