NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man is behind bars after he was accused of committing the first two murders of 2023.


Prosecutors say 28-year-old Shervin Munnings fatally shot Kevin Andrews and his girlfriend Lauranique Taylor around 3:30am on January 2.


The couple were asleep at a home in Mantol Street in Montell Heights when they were shot dead.


Munnings was not required to enter a plea to the murder charges when. He appeared before Magistrate Kendra Kelly.

He was denied bail and is scheduled to return to court on March 14 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
