NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man is behind bars after prosecutors say he shot and killed a man in a drive-by shooting.

Cedler Ariste faced charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder when he stood before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

Prosecutors alleged that Ariste planned the murder of Kenneth Neilly along with others and carried it out on February 2.

The 23-year-old didn’t have to enter pleas to the charges and was denied bail.

Ariste returns to court on April 24 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.

Neilly was shot multiple times while driving a grey-colored Nissan Cube on East Street South when the occupants of a white car opened fire on him.

Neilly, 34, died in hospital on February 7.
