NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 41-year-old man picked up a 34-year-old hitchhiker on July 19 and raped her on two beaches, prosecutors allege.

Olrick Farrington stood before Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans facing two counts of rape into the July 19 incident.

He didn’t have to enter pleas to the charges and was denied bail.

Farrington is back in court on December 12 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.

According to police, Farrington offered the woman a ride as she walked along East Street around 4 a.m.

Instead of taking her to her destination, Farrington allegedly took the woman to Montagu Beach and Yamacraw Beach, where he raped her.
