NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man is behind bars after he allegedly seriously injured three people in an apparent unprovoked stabbing spree in New Providence.

Warren Major, 40, faced three counts of attempted murder when he stood before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

He didn’t have to enter pleas to the charges and the matter was adjourned to November 20.

Bail was denied and the magistrate ordered that Major receive a psychiatric evaluation while in custody.

Prosecutors allege that on August 18, Major stabbed Shedrick McPhee as he walked along University Boulevard around 9:30pm.

Later that day, Major allegedly stabbed Vernon McPhee in chest while he sleep in an unsecured house near CC Sweeting School.

The following day, Major boarded a jitney bus on Farrington Road and allegedly stabbed the bus driver, Eugene Neely, in the neck after he asked him for money.

Neely drove to the Criminal Investigation Department and was taken to hospital.

Police arrested him later that day.
