NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A jury has unanimously acquitted a 29-year-old man accused of molesting his now former girlfriend’s daughter.

The jury of five women and three men found the man not guilty of unlawful sexual intercourse after deliberating for an hour.

The man, whose name has been withheld to protect the minor’s identity, denied the allegation at his trial before Justice Guillimina Archer-Minns.

Prosecutors alleged that the man molested the girl at ages 12 and 13 in 2022 and 2023.
The now-15-year-old girl alleged that the man gave her between $20 to $100 in hush money depending on what sexual acts were performed.

The man denied the sexual abuse allegations and suggested the girl falsely accused him after she got in trouble for skipping school with a boy.

He was represented by Cassie Bethell.
