NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Ronald Telfort, a suspect wanted for the murder of police reservist Lernex Williams on Sunday, was also at the center of a police brutality viral video back in January 2023, accused of theft.

Telfort pleaded not guilty to charges of stealing, receiving stolen property and causing damage, and was granted 4 thousand dollars bail on a theft charge.

On January 28th 2023, Our News reporter Joshua Williams sat down with Telfort as he explained his version of events.

Telfort walked with a visible limp, saying he had incurred a sprained toe and sprained ankle during the incident, and that he was also experiencing worsening shoulder pain.

Then he shared the changes he hopped to see within the force.

However two years later, Telfort is wanted by police in connection with the Father’s Day double shooting at the Palmdale Shopping Center.

Police reservist Lernex Williams was gunned down as he was making a bank deposit, along with another alleged suspect who was shot to death.

Police made it clear on Tuesday that they want to question the now 42-year-old about William’s murder.

Chief Superintendent Sheria King – Press Liaison, RBPF
