NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 46-year-old man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in a fatal stabbing at the Progressive Liberal Party’s Elizabeth Constituency Headquarters last year.

Kile Dean initially faced a murder charge for killing Kendrick Cambridge last September – two days before the general election.

But Dean pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter as part of a plea agreement before Acting Chief Justice Bernard Turner.

The court heard that the men fought after Dean poured Cambridge’s drink on the ground. That’s when prosecutors say Dean stabbed cambridge.

As part of the deal, Dean was sentenced to 12 years in prison, reduced to 11 years, for time served.

Dean risks spending an additional three years in jail if he doesn’t stay out of legal problems for two years after his release.

The dean was represented by Damien white.

Acting Deputy DPP Cordell Frazier and Karine Macvean were the prosecutors.
