NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A child rapist has been jailed for 20 years for the sexual assault of a nine-year-old girl.

Kenold Romain, 43,  did not show any emotion as Justice Jeanine Weech-Gomez handed down her decision.

The judge said the victim had to live with the trauma of contracting a sexually transmitted infection as a result.

Justice Weech-Gomez  said that Romain had failed to show remorse and instead suggested that the culprit was the boyfriend of the young girl’s mother.

The incident took place in New Providence in November 2020.
