NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man has been jailed for 14 years after he admitted to fatally stabbing a 79-year-old woman.

Tamar Forbes initially faced a murder charge in relation to the 2020 death of Elisia Theoc. However, he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.

According to Forbes, he stabbed the senior citizen in the neck with a knife during an altercation in Pinedale, Eight Mile Rock.

He then dragged her body into bushes, where he covered her body with branches and a piece of wood.

Elioc’s family reported her missing after she didn’t return home on June 19, 2020. A search party found her dead in bushes the following day.

Forbes was arrested the same day and confessed to the killing.

Justice Andrew Forbes sentenced Forbes to 14 years and ordered the sentence to take effect from his date of arrest.

He also recommended that Forbes take anger management classes.
