Marine Accused of Drug and Ammunition Possession

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Royal Bahamas Defence Force marine has been freed on bail after appearing in court on drugs and ammunition charges. 

Able Seaman Aljuan Bullard is accused of having two grams of cocaine, two grams of marijuana, two ounces of amphetamine pills and 14 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Police officers allegedly seized the contraband when they executed a search warrant at his home on Jackfish Drive on March 2.

Bullard denied the allegations at his arraignment before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.

Bullard’s bail was set at $4,500 and he returns to court on July 18th for the start of his trial.He will be suspended from duty and placed on half pay until the matter is resolved.
