GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Thirty-three-year-old Alannah Vellacott wears many hats – from marine ecologist to science communicator, free diver and even a brand ambassador for some of the top ocean space brands.

Vellacott says she has some 16 years of experience in the marine ecology industry working with different scientists, organizations and of course, marine creatures. 

Vellacott grew up alongside the Hawksbill Creek and spent most of her days exploring all the ocean had to offer. She credits both nature and nuture for her passion. 

With an extensive list of accolades under her belt, Vellacott shares just some of the highlights of her career thus far 

But she admits, there are some challenges within the industry.
