GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – President of the Grand Bahama Port Authority (GBPA) Ian Rolle is a public certified accountant.

He started out at Ernst and Young in New Providence.

He shares his father was the controller of Bahamas Customs Department in Grand Bahama for a period of time and that’s when he grew to love the island.

In the early 2000’s he moved to Grand Bahama to work for Hutchison Development Bahamas as the finance manager which was responsible for building the Grand Lucayan strip.

However,  he was later approached by the Grand Bahama Port Authority for a job.

He was convinced to join the GBPA by it’s executive team and Sir Albert Miller, one of the founding members.

Years later, he boasts about the now executive team who he says are all Bahamians.

Rolle says he’s committed to the job while touching on some of the social infrastructure and activities the GBPA has provided on the island.

And while he admits he takes a lot of flack in his role, he maintains he has a connection with the communIty.
