NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two men facing charges in relation to a $1.5 million marijuana seizure in Grand Bahama last week made their first court appearance Tuesday.

Elvardo Beneby, 37, and Edwis Hall, 35,  were arrested on February 26 after a search of a vessel off Midshipman Road uncovered 500 pounds of marijuana.

Beneby and Hall denied charges of drug possession with intent to supply, drug importation and conspiracy to commit the crimes at their arraignment before Acting Deputy Chief Magistrate Charlton Smith.

They were each granted $50,000 bail and ordered to wear an ankle bracelet.
