Ricardo Rivera Scores a Hat Trick in 19 Minutes To Put the Junkanoo Boys Away

BAYMON, PUERTO RICO – The Bahamas Men’s National Soccer team returned to CONCACAF Nations’ League play, taking on the Puerto Rican squad on their home turf 6-1.

Puerto Rico jumped all over the Junkanoo Boys with Ricardo Rivera scoring the first goal two minutes in. He would add a couple of more, recording a hat trick only 19 minutes in, before the Bahamas could even get on the board.

The Bahamas’ only score would come on an own-goal by Puerto Rico’s Joel Serrano in the 53rd but they would go back to pouring it on, adding two more goals before the match concluded.

Puerto Rico outshot the Bahamas an astounding 21 to 1.

The Bahamas Women’s National Team is up next as they will play the U.S. Virgin Islands next Wednesday at the Roscow A. Davies Field in New Providence. The men’s squad was supposed to play a match against Guyana last week in the Dominican Republic, however, it was suspended because of weather.

A makeup date is still forthcoming.
