UNITED STATES – Meta is under scrutiny in Washington after a leaked document suggested its AI chatbots were allowed to engage in “sensual” and “romantic” conversations with children.

Republican Senator Josh Hawley has launched an investigation, calling the revelations “reprehensible and outrageous.”

The document, obtained by Reuters, reportedly detailed internal risk standards for Meta’s AI, including examples of explicit roleplay with minors.

Meta disputes the claims, saying the notes were “erroneous” and have been removed, emphasizing that its policies strictly prohibit sexualized content involving children.

Hawley insists parents deserve transparency and has demanded answers directly from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
