MEXICO – A Mexican miner, trapped for nearly 14 days, was rescued alive on Wednesday.

President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed that another miner had been found dead and one more remained missing.

A dam breach caused by a structural failure flooded the El Rosario mine on March 25 and trapped the man and three co-workers.

Twenty-one other miners escaped immediately.

The survivor, brought to the surface Wednesday morning, was stabilized and put in a Mexican Air Force helicopter headed to a hospital, where he will be treated by specialists.
