MEXICO – Mexican authorities have linked a massacre of 20 people in a Southern town to a Mexican drug lord.

The attack was first blamed on a rival gang through social media.
Authorities have since raided five properties of the Hurtado brothers.
On October 5th, the Mayor of Totolapan was killed along with his father and 18 other men.
The attack was originally claimed in a video attributed to a near-extinct gang.
Mexican drug cartels are increasingly using social media to blame other gangs and mislead authorities and the public.
