Mexico Evacuates 34 Nationals From Haiti Fleeing Violence

HAITI – Mexico evacuated 34 nationals from Haiti amidst escalating gang violence. The Mexican navy confirmed the special operation earlier this week, relocating them via helicopter from the Dominican Republic Embassy in Port-Au-Prince to a navy ship bound for Mexico.

The move was prompted by armed groups’ illegal control of Haiti’s international airport. With political uncertainty and gang dominance gripping Haiti, foreign departures have surged.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in thousands of casualties and widespread displacement, including attacks on police stations and the suspension of commercial flights.
