Min.: BPL Receives Only $50M of $100M Loan
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Works and Utilities Minister Alfred Sears says around $50 million dollars has been advanced to Bahamas Power and Light by way of a loan.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Works and Utilities Minister Alfred Sears says around $50 million dollars has been advanced to Bahamas Power and Light by way of a loan.
Responding to questions from the official opposition Monday, Sears said government topped up an existing loan facility entered into in 2019 and 2021 at $100,000,000 million dollars.
Sears making it clear, the money was not a subsidy.
The official opposition also asking if delaying the increased caused Bahamians to pay more.
