NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Special needs students across the nation are getting much-needed learning aids thanks to donations from corporate Bahamas.

Playground Bahamas will boost the quality of education for some 1000 special needs students through donations for its friends and family fun day set for January 10th at the Kendal Isaacs Gym.

Sharon Clarke, Acting Assistant Director of The Ministry of Education’s special services section, says the ministry faces deficits that hinder the learning process for students despite the government’s efforts.

Clarke says the public-private partnership is welcome and provides much-needed assistance to meet the ministry’s mandates.

Playground Bahamas President Jason Cartwright says the event, started in 2015, is a fun-filled event for kids at heart where they can see their favourite Disney characters and get a taste of Junkanoo to close the night.
