NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It’s a heartbreaking reality no mother ever wants to face seeing the dead body of the child she once cradled being wheeled away in a hearse.

That was the painful scene on Springfield Road this morning, just off Prince Charles Drive, where police discovered the body of a man believed to be in his early twenties, fatally shot and left in a patch of bushes.

Police Press Liaison Sheria King say it was an anonymous tip that led them to the crime scene.

“ Officers responded and discovered an adult male, apparently, or approximately in his early twenties with apparent gunshot wounds to the upper body or apparent injuries to the upper body,” King said.

Charmaine Marshall – Sister of Murder Victim

“ My friend messaged me this morning..she got the news that somebody yuck him last night, maybe when he [was]…coming home, and I said what you mean ? So I get up and I called my old lady [sic],” she said.

That’s when Michelle Gedeon says she knew something was wrong, that her son could be in danger.

Michelle Gedeon – Mother of Murder Victim

“ When my daughter called me, tell me my son ain’t come home from last night, I mean, my chest started to hurt. I had this pain I never hurt before [sic],” she said.

She described him as a quiet, respectful young man who worked as a security officer and always looked out for his family.

However, she says this isn’t the first time her son has been targeted.

“ Couple months back…he was walking to the shop one day and…they pull up on him and they beat him dead bad, but somebody that end up a bystander end up seeing him…,” she said.

However, the mother didn’t stop there, she believes her other son, who was recently released from prison was the intended target.

“My son just come out…if they can’t get my son…they could get the next one [sic],” she said.

At this stage, the time of death and whether the body was transported remain unknown.

However, investigations are underway and residents in the area are being questioned.
