NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Nearly one year after The Bahamas National Statistical Institute started work on the 2022 census report, work is still ongoing.

This as BNSI officials say getting information has not been easy.

Data collection for the census began last April following a two-year delay as a result of the covid-19 pandemic.

For the 2010 census, 102,000 households were surveyed. For this latest census, the target was 115,000 households at an estimated cost of $6 million for the digitally conducted survey.

The census provides a comprehensive picture of the social and living conditions in The Bahamas.
