NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A mother has been charged with child cruelty after a disturbing video of her kicking and bodyslamming her seven-year-old daughter went viral on social media.

The 30-year-old woman’s name has been withheld to protect the identity of her child.

The charge stems from an incident that took place at Cordeaux Avenue on October 24.

The woman pleaded not guilty to the charge when she stood before Assistant Chief Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux.

Bail was denied and her trial is set for January 21, 2026.
