HAITI – Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has suspended its operations in Port-Au-Prince after a violent attack on its staff and the alleged killing of two patients by Haitian police.

The incident happened on November 11, when police and a paramilitary group reportedly stopped an MSF ambulance, dragged out two patients, and executed them.

The decision comes as violence escalates in Haiti. On Tuesday alone, 25 people were killed during a police operation to stop a gang invasion in the upscale Pétion-Ville area.

MSF condemned the violence and says it cannot safely continue its work in the capital for now.
