NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The National High School baseball tournament started with an 11-6 CW Saunders cougars win over the C.I. Gibson Rattlers.

While the hurricanes of St. Andrew’s eeked out a 16-15 win over the Anatol Rodgers Timberwolves.

The C.I. Gibson Rattlers came back to get boatraced by the C.R. Walker Knights 14-5.

The St. Augustine’s College Big Red Machine beat the giants of St. John’s 12-3.

The C.V. Bethel Stingrays beat the Saints of Kingsway 9-5.

And finally the cougars of C.W. Saunders came back to secure another win, beating the St. John’s Giants 15-6.

Basketball

Deandre Ayton and his LA Lakers got the 128-121 win over the Memphis Grizzlies last night in LA.

The big man from New Providence had 4 points and 6 rebounds in the effort.

Lebron James had a vintage night dropping 31 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists, and Luka Doncic had 34, 6, and 8 as well.

Jaren Jackson Jr. had a signature night as well in the Grizzlies’ loss. The 6’11” big man had 25 points and 1 rebound.

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder were rolling, and there was very little Buddy Hield, and the Warriors could do to stop them last night. They fell 131-94 to the NBA’s best team.

The shooter from Grand Bahama came off the bench, scoring 11 points in 24 minutes for the dubs.

Reigning league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 31 points and 7 assists in the win for the Thunder.

And in SEC women’s basketball, coach Yolett McCuin and the university of Mississippi Rebels played the number 2 ranked Texas Longhorns earlier this afternoon.
