THE CARIBBEAN – The National Hurricane Center is tracking 5 tropical waves, including 3 moving through the Caribbean.

No storms are expected in the Atlantic just yet but that could change soon.

Forecasters say conditions will become more favorable in the weeks ahead.

The next named storm will be Dexter. Historically, the first hurricane of the season forms around August 11th.

In the Pacific, Hurricane Iona has strengthened into a major storm, with winds of 115 miles per hour.
