NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Senators in the upper house debating the National Investment Fund 2022, last week. The bill aims to align with international best practices on transparency, accountability and governance of such funds. It will allow for the establishment of sub-funds.

Senator Ryan Pinder, noting that one of those sub-funds, the renewable energy fund, will promote the development of renewable energy and energy efficient projects.

The bill will also establish a food security fund to promote the development of sustainable food production to improve self dependence and reduce dependence on exports.
