NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The National Emergency Management Agency keeping the pulse throughout the islands affected by tropical storm Nicole, as it strengthened into a hurricane.

Terrece Bootle, second-in-charge for Local Government, updated the media on how Family Island Administrators are managing the impacts of hurricane Nicole as strong winds, heavy rains and storm surge swept in.

Over on the island of Abaco, power issues persisted. Sterling Moss, Director of Field Operations at Bahamas Power and Light explains crews were challenged getting to affected areas because of deteriorating weather conditions.

Arlington Bethel, Water and Sewerage Senior Safety Manager, says operations remain normal on New Providence.

As it relates to the island of Abaco, it is at full capacity storage.
