New National Flag Football Champs Crowned

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The National Flag Football Championship wrapped on Saturday in Grand Bahama.  The hometown squads swept the men’s and women’s divisions.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The National Flag Football Championship wrapped up on Saturday in Grand Bahama.  

The hometown squads swept the men’s and women’s divisions with the Out Da Sea Lady Tritons beating the Chiro Contractors Lady Avengers 3-0 in overtime to win the women’s championship and The Skye’s the Limit Rock Boys beating the ELDC Lions 25-21.  

Shantell Adderley was your women’s MVP and Walter Hanna Jr. Was named MVP on the men’s side. 

Team Bahamas did well at the North American, Central American and Caribbean track and field under 18 and under 23 meet in Costa Rica with 23 medals in hand.  

The Bahamas won seven gold, nine silver and seven bronze medals for a total medal count of 23, good for 4th overall behind the USA, Jamaica and Canada.  

There were a couple of notable finishes. Kenny Moxey won gold medals in the boys U-18 decathlon and the pole vault. Keyshan Strachan won gold in the javelin.  

The Bahamas’ under 18 squad of Zion Miller, Zion Shepherd, Nya Wright and Alexs Robert won the mixed 4/400 meter relay, Miller and Shepherd also came first and third, respectively in the u18 400m.
