NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Members of one Rastafarian community are weighing in on the recently tabled cannabis bill, while others in the religion are fairly pleased, this group says they still have a few issues.

It’s the first time the Nyahbinghi Rastafarian community has spoken out publicly against the cannabis bill, that was tabled yesterday in Parliament.

The Rastafarian religion is split into several denominations. The Nyahbinghi tribe is just one of them.

While consultations occurred with various Rastafarian communities such as the one led by High Priest Rithmond McKinney on Fire Trail Road, they feel as if they’ve not been heard.

They think the bill is only focused on the pharmaceutical industry, adding that their community should be considered.
