NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A police constable has denied soliciting sex from a 32-year-old woman he met on a beach with her boyfriend in the wee hours of the morning.

Constable Shaquille Williamson took the witness stand in his defense at his trial before Justice Renae McKay.

Prosecutors allege that on July 5, 2023 at around 2am Williamson was on patrol alone when he met a woman and man having sex on the hood of a car on Yamacraw Beach.

After ordering the couple to get dressed, Williamson ran name checks on both of them.
Williamson allegedly separated the couple.

After he learned the woman had an outstanding warrant for unpaid traffic tickets, Williamson allegedly told her she could avoid arrest if she had sex with him.

The woman made a frantic call to police control room, while Williamson was talking to her boyfriend.

Police arrested Williamson after learning that the woman did not have an outstanding arrest warrant.

In his testimony, Williamson denied abusing his authority by soliciting sex from the woman.
A nine-member jury will decide his fate next week.
