ELEUTHERA, BAHAMAS – As Bahamians grapple with rising food costs, the One Eleuthera Foundation has made it easier and more affordable for Eleutherans to eat healthy, according to President and CEO Keyron Smith.

But that’s not all, the One Eleuthera Foundation’s food security program is also training the next generation of farmers in alternative methods of growing crops.

So far, the project is having its impact on the local community.

The project was birthed during the COVID-19 pandemic as prices started to surge.

Smith provided this comparison of savings for Eleutherans.

Smith says the plan is to eventually share the savings by expanding to New Providence.

The foundation is celebrating 13 years. Smith says aim has been to have an impact on the community.
