NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Some parliamentarians who prepared to debate the Tourism Development Corporation Bill in parliament Monday were caught off guard when they learned the debate was postponed.

The bill was pulled at the last second due to a lack of consultation.

Opposition members were informed moments before parliament began and according to Opposition Leader Michael Pintard, the lack of consultation is cause for concern.

The bill intends to place The Tourism Development Corporation on legal, statutory funding, and facilitate the creation of a Tourism Development Fund.
