NASSAU, BAHAMAS – In 2025, Our News took entertainment reporting to another level, tracking the biggest cultural moments not just in The Bahamas, but across the region. From star-studded red carpets to international music festivals, the year was filled with unforgettable experiences and iconic performances. Denielle Miller brings the highlights.

The year kicked off with glamour at Baha Mar as Grammy-winning artist Jon Batiste opened his highly anticipated jazz club. The red carpet buzz set the tone for what would become a year of nonstop entertainment coverage.

February brought romance to the Nassau Cruise Port, where Bahamian talent shared the stage with Grammy Award-winner Regina Belle and R&B legend Freddie Jackson. Reflecting on the energy of the night, Jackson told Our News he was grateful for the overwhelming love from Bahamian fans.

By March, the team was on the move, first to the Jazz in the Gardens Music Festival, then back home for the Nassau Paradise Island Wine & Food Festival, followed by a return to Miami for the 19th annual Best of the Best Concert in May.

The pace didn’t slow down. In the summer, Our News traveled to Abaco for Black Bottle Fest, hosted by Foreign Currency Promotions and headlined by rapper and entrepreneur Rick Ross. Ross praised the vibrancy of Bahamian culture, calling it “so beautiful.”

Later in the year, the team headed to Brooklyn for the Caribbean Music Awards, a milestone event that debuted on BET Network for the first time in its three-year history.

That same electric energy continued back home in November at “Twenty-Five Years of Greatness,” a massive soca and rake n’ scrape celebration marking Alpha Sounds Promotions’ 25th anniversary. The explosive lineup featured Wendi, Fanshawn, Julien Believe, Ancient Man, and surprise appearances from Fadda Fox and Rupee, capped off by a dynamic performance from Kes the Band.

From local stages to international arenas, 2025 was a year of movement, music, and cultural celebration.
