DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – Authorities in the Dominican Republic seized 548 packages of cocaine in a major drug bust off the Pedernales Coast, the National Directorate of Drug control announced Tuesday.

The operation was a joint effort with the Navy and Air Force.

Forensic analysis confirmed the haul weighed over 1,245 lbs.

Two Dominican nationals were arrested aboard a speedboat near Beata Island.
