NASSAU, BAHAMAS – About 40% of labour certificates approved last year were jobs that Bahamians can fill, according to Director of Labour, Robert Farquharson.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – About 40% of labour certificates approved last year were jobs that Bahamians can fill.
That estimation coming from Director of Labour, Robert Farquharson, who says the issue largely comes down to Bahamian professionals not registering with the skills bank at the department of labour.
Over 100,000 jobseekers are already registered, both employed and unemployed, but the Department of Labour is hoping to rapidly grow their skills bank with a seven week registration drive starting this Saturday.
