Over 80,000 Attend Mass With Pope Francis In Jakarta Stadium

INDONESIA – Over 80,000 people attended a mass with Pope Francis at Jakarta’s Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Indonesia recently.

The Pope paid homage to a figure of the Virgin Mary, known locally as “Santa Perawan Maria,” as the crowd joined in prayer.

This marked the highlight of the 87-year-old pope’s four-day visit to Jakarta, the first stop on his 12-day tour of Southeast Asia and Oceania, which includes East Timor, Singapore, and Papua New Guinea.
