PAHO: Cases Decline Across Region

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Caribbean region is seeing an overall steady decline in COVID-19 cases and deaths, according to the Pan American Health Organization. The news coming from PAHO’s Assistant Director, Dr. Jarbas Barbosa during the weekly press update.



According to Dr. Barbosa, the same downward trend is present in much of South America, apart from a few cities that are being closely monitored. Barbosa says that vaccinations are having an impact on the reduced number of hospitalizations.

He says the good news is not a green light to let our guards down.
