NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two men are facing charges following the seizure of five kilos of cocaine in Inagua.

Prosecutors allege that 57-year-old Clayvone Seymour and 65-year-old James Dean appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt on charges of drug possession with intent to supply and conspiracy to possess drugs with intent to supply.

The charges stem from the January 21 seizure of the drugs that police say have a street value of $100,000.

Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit went to a mailboat on the island and allegedly found the drugs hidden in a box of seafood.

Seymour and Dean denied the allegations at their arraignment and were each granted $30,000 bail.

Their trial is set for September 12-14, 2023.
