UNITED STATES – A new twist in the fight to buy Warner Bros Discovery as Paramount Skydance launches a hostile bid to beat out Netflix.

Paramount is offering thirty dollars a share, valuing the company at more than $108 billion, far higher than Netflix’s $83 billion deal announced last week.

The bid comes amid growing political attention, with President Trump saying there could be a problem with a Netflix takeover because of competition concerns.

Paramount says its offer would be easier for regulators to approve, while industry analysts warn either deal will face serious scrutiny.

Shares of Warner Bros and Paramount jumped today, while Netflix stock fell.
