NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The grieving parents of a toddler who was mauled by dogs in the Fox Hill have been remanded to prison, pending a bail hearing.

Douglas Nixon, 40, and Jenny Nixon, 31, are charged with cruelty to children concerning the November 14 death of their two-year-old son Daniel Nixon.

Prosecutors say the child was found dead after wandering away from the family home on Brice Street, Fox Street.

The Nixon’s pleaded not guilty to the charge at their arraignment before Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans.

The prosecution asked the court for  time to review the file to determine whether they will object to bail.

The pair return to court on Wednesday.

They are represented by Bjorn Ferguson.
