NASSAU , BAHAMAS – The Progressive Liberal Party unveiled its “Blueprint for Progress”, laying out its vision for the next five years if they’re returned to office after next month’s general election.
At a high-energy launch on Wednesday night at the University of The Bahamas, party leaders highlighted plans to tackle health, education, national security, and accountability.
The PLP made its case to voters by promising to build on what it calls progress made over the last term, while expanding services and opportunities across the country.
On the health front, Health Minister Dr. Michael Darville outlined a broad plan aimed at improving access, expanding coverage to all public servants, including contracted workers.

“It is our commitment that anyone that serve our country should know that they’re protected when they become ill. That kind of security should not be uncertain but a firm commitment that we are prepared to make.”
Meanwhile, Education Minister Glenys Hanna-Martin focused on early childhood development and preparing students for a rapidly changing world.
Her plan included universal education from age four to the expansion of the school breakfast program, and new emphasis on AI, coding, and technical training.

“Education is not one road for one kind of child. Some young people try an academic pathway. Some will discover their gifts in technical and vocational training. Some need a second chance before life closes in on them. That is why we will construct a modern, purpose-filled BTVI main campus with first-rate facilities for technology, renewable energy, advanced construction trades, and logistics. And that is why we are introducing the Skills for Life program across government high schools”
On national security, Minister Wayne Munroe laid out a strategy to expedite criminal cases and reduce the backlog, as well as strengthen border protection.

“With clear rules, digital enforcement, and real consequences, we will procure our national biometric immigration system and deploy biometric e-gates that flag priority parties and multiple identity fraud, with overstay alerts triggered within 48 hours”
And wrapping up the night was the Party Leader and Prime Minister Philip Davis, who introduced a new tool aimed at holding his administration accountable.

“Tonight we will release our blueprint tracker. This is an online tracking tool which will allow the Bahamian people to see every single commitment we made in our blueprint for change, allow people to follow what was promised, and measure whether it is delivered.”
