PLP Ratifies 15 Candidates For 2026 General Election

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – 15 Progressive Liberal Party candidates receives the nod Thursday night during a ratification event that was nearly rained out.

Hundreds of party supporters packed the backyard of the PLP’s headquarters last night to hear from the newly minted candidates.

Among them, three new faces:

Ronnell Armbrister MICAL candidate.

Bradley FoxSouth Abaco candidate.

Owen WellsSt. James candidate

Ronnell Armbrister – PLP Candidate, MICAL

“I am a woman who believes in showing up, and when I say showing up, I mean showing up before the election, showing up after the election, showing up when the cameras are gone.”

Bradley Fox – PLP Candidate, Central and South Abaco

“We begin writing a new chapter one where progress reaches every home.”

Owen Wells – PLP Candidate, St. James

“Good, competent representation matters.”

Returning for another election run are 11 incumbents, including Kirk Cornish for North Abaco; Leonardo Lightbourne for North Andros; Wayde Watson for Bain and Grants Town, and Patricia Deveaux for Bamboo Town.

Wayde Watson – PLP Candidate, Bain and Grants Town

Patricia Deveaux – PLP Candidate, Bamboo Town

Sitting Eleuthera MP’s Clay Sweeting and Sylvanus Petty also got the nod.

“Central and South Eleuthera gone!”

Sylvanus Petty – PLP Candidate, North Eleuthera

“Seven months, compared to 45 years we have water flowing.”

Michael HalkitisSt. Barnabas (the seat he lost in 2021)

However, despite no official election date being called, prime minister and party leader, Philip Davis, says his party will be ready to go for two straight victories.
