NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prime Minister Philip Davis declining to disclose just how much in settlements were awarded to former politicians and senior police officers.

The prime minister was responding to a question from opposition leader Michael Pintard during question time in the house of assembly on Wednesday.

For a while the government has shot down questions surrounding lawsuit settlements for certain individuals.

Former PLP Cabinet Minister Shane Gibson sued the government following a high-profile bribery case in 209.

While the government didn’t reveal, Gibson’s lawyer, Anthony Mckinney said the settlement was $2.5 million.

Others to receive settlements were Financial Secretary Simon Wilson, now Commissioner of Police Clayton Fernander, and Deputy Commissioner Leamond Deleveaux along with other senior officers.
