NASSAU, BAHAMAS – “We are out of time”

That was the warning from Prime Minister Philip Davis to world leaders, as he addressed the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow. He urged leaders to ensure that COP26 succeeds in a way that the last 25 conference of parties meetings did not.

A short but sobering speech from Prime Minister Philip Davis as he urged world leaders to have the courage to acknowledge that failure today will directly lead to destruction for people across the globe.

A passionate plea from the Prime Minister as he addressed world leaders on day three of the UN Climate Change conference in Glasgow. Davis warned that without real action and financing from the larger countries, the future looks bleak for developing nations like The Bahamas.

The Prime Minister said past leaders have postponed until tomorrow what needed to happen yesterday. Now, he says, tomorrow is here – today! – and countries like The Bahamas are out of time.

Davis pledged The Bahamas will do what it can to help tackle climate change, but he acknowledged that the limits of what the small nation’s effort can accomplish are stark.
