WORLDWIDE – Police have dismantled a global gang accused of utilizing a tech service to execute fraudulent text scams, arresting 37 individuals worldwide. They say younger internet-savvy demographics were targeted most.

Authorities, led by the Metropolitan Police, seized 70 properties in 17 countries, detaining 24 suspects in the UK. 70,000 victims were identified, with 25,000 warned via text messages.

With estimated profits of around $1.25 million, police say 480,000 card numbers and 64,000 pin codes were stolen.
