UNITED STATES – No billion-dollar winner in Monday night’s Labor Day Powerball drawing, which means the jackpot has now swelled to a staggering $1.3 billion.

The next draw is set for Wednesday night, with a cash value of nearly $590 million before taxes.

Monday’s winning numbers were 8, 23, 25, 40, and 53, with a red powerball of 5. Ten tickets nationwide still hit $1 million prizes.

This jackpot now ranks as the fifth-largest in Powerball history, and the ninth biggest U.S. lottery jackpot overall. The odds of hitting it remain about 1 in 292 million… but for many, the dream is worth the two-dollar ticket.
