NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Prime Minister Philip Davis brushing off reporters’ questions about concerns raised by gas station owners saying “no concern.”

Petroleum dealers have been in negotiations with the Davis administration for nearly three years, seeking a 25-cent per gallon increase in their margin.

Dealers initially requested a 30-cent increase but have lowered their demand to 25 cents.

With things at a standstill, the Bahamas Petroleum Dealers Association says they’re protesting outside Parliament on Wednesday.

Thursday, OPM Press Secretary Keishla Adderley said the government is still working toward a solution.

On Friday, Bernard “Porky” Dorsett, who is the owner of Porky’s Rubis Service Centre, declared that time has run out.

The last time petroleum dealers saw a margin increase was 13 years ago under then-Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham.

Veronica Moore is the owner of a Rubis Service Station. She says she may have to close her station if the situation doesn’t improve.

Owner of Roker’s Gas Station Peter Roker describes the situation as economic genocide.

But just how those affected feel about the situation? We spoke to several motorists to get their views.
