GRAND BAHAMA, THE BAHAMAS – Following that press conference lead by Prime Minister Philip Davis, journalists were only allowed to ask one question each. Well, we used that opportunity to seek clarity on a variety of issues.

We asked Prime Minister Davis for his response to residents who feel the island is being neglected, pointing to an unopened resort, no completion of a new airport and no construction of an announced Weller Development project.

Here’s the prime minister’s response.

Now back in December 2022, Deputy Prime Minister, Chester Cooper, expressed optimism that a groundbreaking for the international airport would happen in the first quarter of 2023 and would be fully completed by January 2025. And now, one year after its previously anticipated completion date, Davis giving this new timeline.
